The arrogance of our elected representatives never ceases to amaze me. Unfortunately, the news media doesn't like to report anything that makes the new folks in charge look bad.
We all remember the incredibly large Stimulus Bill that absolutely no one in Congress bothered to read before it was passed. And it came back to bite them when it turned out they had authorized those big bonus' for AIG in the Bill. Then to divert attention from their own ineptitude, they went after the Evil folks at AIG. Demanding the money be returned (private contracts once again tossed aside), and promising hearings and more oversight so that nothing like that would ever happen again.
It was really sad to watch the members of Congress once again point fingers at everyone instead of just admitting they didn't read any of the Bill they passed.
Which brings me to the pure mockery of the people of these United States by our Democratic leaders.
On May 21, the House Energy and Commerce Committee pushed the Cap and Trade bill through. The committee chairman, Henry Waxman, when asked, admitted he has no idea what is in the Bill. Why, because once again, they felt that the single largest tax increase on the American public, wasn't worth reading. Word leaked out that no one knew what was in this bill that had just moved to the floor. So, the esteemed Mr Waxman and his peers, purely for a laugh, and a slap in the face of all Americans, brought in a speed reader.
I particularly enjoy the fact that they make the speed reader stop, due to their own laughter. They are making fun of us, and a mockery of our entire system of government.
This is just one more example of the complete power the Democrats are feeling now. Still, no one has read this bill in it's entirety. Yet they will pass it anyway. The resulting taxes will surely destroy small business's. Raise every ones energy expenses, and most likely be the final blow to the American economy.
You would think some one would read the thing.
