SAVAGE - AND FREE SPEECH

I listen to Michael Savage when I am out tooling around in my truck I don't always agree with his point of view, but I do think he is spot on most of the time. He can be boisterous, aggressive, and in your face. He can also be thoughtful, introspective, and inquisitive. Sometimes he tells stories from his childhood. I am not a big fan of these, but I understand how nothing but news, and mostly bad news at that, will make your head explode.

He led the charge to free the Marines that were accused by terrorists of killing terrorists in Haditha. He has done much for various policemen in their time of need. He is a true American Patriot.

And whether you agree with him or not, he has the right to say what he thinks. At least for now. I have already covered The Progressive Left of Congress, and their sneaky back door plans to silence conservative talk radio.

So that brings me to the Banning of Dr Savage from the UK. Out of the blue, labeled an undesirable on a list of Nazi's and skinheads an other violent offenders. I could maybe see it, if he had been planning to go to the UK.

He thinks, and I tend to agree, this was a back door attempt by the White House to knock him down. With everything else our government is doing these days, what once seemed to be in the realm of Tin Foil Hats, now seems to be everyday reality.

Fortunately, is would seem to have backfired. Probably doubled Savages listenership, and gave him a firm soap box to stand on.

I doubt if he'll be able to get his name cleared and off the UK list of undesirables, they seem to be having a lot of internal government trouble as it is over there. And it is probably not at the top of their list of stuff that desperately needs attention to save the country from going down the tubes. So, there his name will remain.

Mr Savage has a right to be up in arms about this. As It would seem to be another sneak attack on our right to free speech. And as he himself points out, the first amendment covers speech you don't necessarily like, not just the sunshine and lollipop fluff coming out of the White House prepackaged press releases.

At least for now anyway. More and more our government is ignoring the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. These documents simply get in the way of the bigger agenda. And so do opposing voices. I think it is telling that the Lion's share of radio listenership is held by a handful of conservative talk show hosts. That must be really annoying to the Progressives. Especially when you consider the lengths they seem willing to go to put a stop to their voices.

I wish Mr Savage luck in his fight. For his fight is the fight for us all, and the right to free speech.
