MAN THE LIFEBOATS

“We have a problem in not wanting to attract enough negative attention to the bill in terms of the pay-fors,” he said. “Let them get a good feel for the coverage.” Charles Rangle.

That is government for – We want to give the American people the sunshine and lollipop version of the new Health Care Plan. Then after we pass it, we'll let them know how much they are now on the hook for.

Health-care overhaul legislation being drafted by House Democrats will include $600 billion in tax increases and $400 billion in cuts to Medicare and Medicaid, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles Rangel said.

I was under the impression that Medicare and Medicaid were already screwed up. And they were the main reason the whole Health Care Industry was screwed up. Because of government intervention and mandates.

Ever wonder why stuff cost so dang much these days?

Say you get an MRI, whether you wanted it or not, you no longer have a choice in the matter. That is because if you don't get one for your injury, and something goes wrong, you would get a lawyer and sue them. They don't like to get sued. So they give you the MRI.

And this MRI is what, $7,000. Well, the way things work now, thanks to the government, that MRI in actuality costs $700. But the insurance companies only pay 10 cents on the dollar. Now if you don't have insurance, you have to pay the $7,000, which is their way of offsetting the insurance losses, illegal aliens, and non insured folks.

Now, and I had this happen, Got in a car wreck, spent some time in the hospital. Got an MRI. They gave me some pain killers, and told me I could go to any clinic to get refills.

So I went to a clinic to get some refills, they decided I needed to go to the ER. Once there I was strapped down (guess they thought I would leave, they were right, I would have) and I got another MRI.

I told them I had just had one 2 weeks before, and to call the other hospital. They didn't care, and gave it to me anyway, along with about 100 X-rays. And they found, I had a lot of broken ribs, just like I said I did.

But insurance companies are funny. They didn't want to pay for a second MRI in one month. So they sent me a bill for $7,000., well plus X-rays, more like $10,000.

Plus $500 for the ER visit, when all I did was go to the Clinic which would have cost me $25 under my policy. Oh yeah, I still had to pay for my prescription. See how messed up this is?

And it's all because the Doctors don't want to get sued. And the reasons they are afraid of getting sued, is because the government invented the Medicare / Medicade system. And opened a whole can of worms in the malpractice field for lawyers. If they fixed the malpractice system, Health Care would be affordable for everyone, and the cost of care would be reasonable again.

But, that will not happen. One, it makes sense, and that goes against everything government stands for. And two, most of congress members, are also lawyers. And they will not do anything that restricts the practice of law.

John Edwards, made all his money from malpractice lawsuits. In fact, this whole fiasco was started by Progressive members of congress. And the current Progressive members are the ones writing the new Nationalized Health Care Plan.

Now here is the really crazy part. The only one who really makes any money from a malpractice suit, is the lawyer.

So, instead of fixing what clearly is broken in the system, they are going to leave that part in tact. And create the biggest government bureaucracy quite possibly in the known history of man. And if they run it like every other government agency, it can be nothing but a disaster.

An expensive disaster, that will surely be the death blow to our economy.
