CRAZY INTERNET RUMORS

Apparently, there is a new Internet rumor running around. Supposedly it ties nearly all those other kooky theories in together. Earth shattering news!

Obama takes on the Federal Reserve.

One of the assertions is that President Reagan signed HR 6128 which would dissolve the Federal Reserve, and that is way that other kook who was in love with Jodie Foster, tried to assassinate him.

I am pretty certain, that John Hinckley Jr, was in no way affiliated with the Federal Reserve. So I decided to spend about 5 minuets of my life, which I will never get back, looking into it, just to see if there might be a glimmer of truth.

I have several friends who believe in nearly every conspiracy theory that comes along, and I see it as my civic duty to try to get to the truth, for their sake. Who knows, every now and then they might be right.

I will start with a summery of the legislation, as this is the crux of the theory. I could not find a full text, since it is an older document.

To be fair, it does mention the coining of money, and a couple of lines that taken in a conspiratorial way, could be viewed as suspicious.

Now there is only one major glaring problem to this new theory that the Federal Reserve is behind the Reagen assassination attempt.

This bill was signed in 1982.

Reagen was shot on March 1st, 1981.

Then I found this on Google Books, about Reagen meeting with then Federal Reserve head, Paul Volckner, right after becoming President.

So I would think if these facts are so distorted, then so is everything else in the article. But that will not stop the spreading rumors. Here is the link to the supposed news article, and you can decide for yourself.

The Federal Reserve and Obama Administration are acting in concert. But, this is how these kooky theories get started. And here I am, bringing you the voice of a little common sense and reason. Which is something the world has seemed to have lost lately.
