Oh yes, the Amnesty Bill is back. It never went away really, just put on the back burner. This time around Harry Reid will be the driving force, and I don't see anyone standing in his way.
I was reading the media propaganda. The news is playing it as last time around Congress just could not all agree on the Bill. I seem to remember that it was heading for a passing vote, until word leaked out and the people of this great country weighed in. As I recall about 90% of America called Congress to express their displeasure. I seem to also remember the Congressional phone bank and Email crashing from all the angry Americans voicing their opinions.
Some things never change, and one of them is the arrogance of our folks in DC. Our Dear Leader, along with John McCain spent some quality time in secret meetings during the campaign with various Mexican Pro immigration groups. Quietly, they both promised to push through some sort of version of the failed Amnesty Bill.
An often overlooked remark right after the Inauguration, made by our Dear Leader, alluded to Comprehensive Immigration Reform being past before years end. Not many took notice, and quietly it has been simmering in the halls of Congress.
Simmering until today that is, when Mr Reid mentioned he was going to push it during this congress. He must be tired of being a Senator, for this will surely be political suicide. Last month, the esteemed Janet Napolitano even admitted that with the state of our economy, any Immigration reform would be impossible at this point. Who knows, maybe Mr Reid doesn't know how bad things are out here.
OR
The fact that now Mr Reid is going to be the champion of amnesty during this session tells me that just maybe a bit of reality might be seeping through. He is in for a hard fight in his home state of NV. And the political climate is changing quickly in DC. While the Democratic leaders have been busy pushing a 40 year laundry list of bills through at break neck speed, the constituents back home are getting a bit disgruntled. They ( congressional Democrats) may feel the need to hurry up with what they want to do before the 2010 election. Because there is a good possibility they will no longer hold the majority after that. So brace yourselves for the new Amnesty bill. Well and a carbon tax and who knows what else.
Of course, that would be why they voted to stop funding the border fence, and refuse to put the National Guard on the border to supplement the Border Patrol. Mexico knows they will pass it, they know they will pass it, and they do not want to do anything to upset the apple cart.
Well, they don't want to upset the apple cart, unless it is an American citizen pushing it around. I don't know if you've noticed, but what we want hasn't been much of a concern for many years now.
I will say this, I have sent several Emails to my Representatives in Congress over the last six months. And granted, they are Left of the lefties up there. And with great pride and personal joy I want to say that it only took three months to get a reply back from any of them. And the reply I received basically said, we know better than you, but thank you for your input. Kind of like when you are 5 and your Mom sends you to the other room so the grown ups can talk. But I digress.
I wonder if this is why Mexico is not required to use the new RFID passport cards that US and Canadian citizens are now required to use. No, that was my tin foil hat talking. Because that would only promote as many Illegal Immigrants as possible to come into the US before the Amnesty bill is passed.
I am also positive that the Democrats undermining voter ID requirements in the respective sovereign states has nothing to do with the Illegal Alien population, nor there voting block. Sorry, tin foil hat again.
I need to take off my tin foil hat. My TV seems to be picking up signals from Mexico City. No wait, they were just interviewing someone at Walmart.
